Elijah: Dad we need a pet.
Elijah: Are you allergic to Salamanders?
Matt: (holding back the laughter) No Eli I'm not.
Elijah: are Salamanders mean?
Matt: No
Elijah: are they nice?
I guess Eli is trying to come up with an acceptable pet for our family. About ten minutes before this conversation he is asking me all about the different types of spiders.

This one might be my fault. In class last Sunday the lesson was on being kind to animals and we talked about all the different kinds of pets you can have and that you have to be nice to them and take care of them. I also mentioned that Nate, who was also in the room, was allergic to cats so we could never have any.
So did ya get a Salamander yet?

Bethany, you are so sweet to look for watermelon taffy for me! Don't worry about it anymore - it's probably just a summer thing (though it's still summer here - 89 degrees and it's October). I can't believe how big Reagan is now! She was such a tiny, cute thing the last time I saw her. They get big too fast!
