We got home from Church today to find that our power was out. The wind was so strong. On the way home trees were down and lights were out. Our poor garden. This isn't a very good picture but if you look close you can see that the corn has been blown almost completely over and the peppers aren't far behind either. We were without power for about 4 hours today but the internet was down for about a week and then randomly so we were without phone. But we survived. It made me realize that I need more cash on had so that I could buy groceries if I needed and that I need an extra set of batteries for the flashlights. Reagan missed two days of school because they didn't have power. On Tuesday the 16th there were still 59.2% of Franklin county without power. It was a really interesting experience.

Wow, that is terrible! There have been a lot of things happening these days that have made me realize just how much more prepared I need to be. I have another friend in Texas that said there was no milk to be found anywhere and her son is just little and needs his milk. Once they were able she went right out and bought some dry milk for their food storage. It's the times. Hope it gets better for you!
I guess having some extra cash in my 72 hr kit (if I would make one) wouldn't be a bad idea. Glad that you guys are okay, it freaks me out to think you guys are so close to all that.
